Short Introduction

  • Roll 5 is a dice game in which several players compete to record the most points in the scoring table by skillfully selecting groups of dice.
  • There are 15 rounds in which each player may roll the dice 3 times to achieve the best possible dice combinations.
  • Players decide after the first and second rolls which dice they would like to keep and which they would like to roll again.
  • At the latest after the third roll, each player must record his results in the scoring table. The challenge of Roll 5 lies in the skillful selection of dice to form the appropriate combinations to be recorded in the scoring table.
  • GameDuell Roll 5 differs from normal Roll 5 in that the winner is not decided by luck of the dice. All players roll the same dice values so the correct strategy is the deciding factor. The winner is the player who makes the best choices.

Winner

  • The game is played until all rounds are complete.
  • The player who collects the most points wins.

Gameplay

  • Click on the dice cup or drag it over the table to roll the dice
  • After rolling you are able to click the dice you would like to keep. When you do so, the dice will be marked with a small lock.
  • All dice which are not marked will automatically be placed back into the cup once you click on the "next roll" button.
  • The dice cup will appear again once all players have completed their rolls. You can begin the next round once the dice cup is visible.
  • You are able to record your results in the scoring table after each roll of the dice. To do so, simply click on the appropriate line on the scoring table. You must decide which line you are going to use at the latest after the third roll.
  • After you have recorded your results in the scoring table, please wait until the remaining players have completed the round. Afterwards, the next round will begin.

Scoring

You can record different dice combinations on each line in the scoring table. In the upper section, the points you score are determined by the total value of the dice with the corresponding value. In the lower section, you must fulfill a certain condition to earn the points.

  • If a player earns at least 63 points in the upper section, then 35 points will automatically be added to the field "Bonus" in his column.
  • If a player selects a field for which he has not fulfilled the conditions, then a dash will be recorded in the table and the player will not receive any points for this combination.
  • Each field in the scoring table may be selected only once. For example, if a player scores a Jatzi twice in a game, then the second one may only be scored as a 4 of-a-kind.

Time

  • You are given 15 seconds to decide which dice you will choose. If you have not made a decision in this time, then the decision will be made for you automatically.
  • If a player fails to click the "next roll" button within 15 seconds, then the dice with even numbers will be put back into the cup.
  • If a player has already rolled three times and then fails to enter his results in the scoring table before the time is up, then the computer will automatically make the optimal choice for the player which will give him the most possible points.

You can use the rolling history to keep track of the dice your opponents have kept. This can give you extra help in choosing the best strategy.

Final Scores and Time Bonus

At the end of the game, each player's total score is multiplied by 1000. The time bonus is then added to this total. The time bonus is calculated by subtracting the total seconds used for choosing which dice to keep by 1000. If a player used a total of 300 seconds to make his choices, then he will receive a time bonus worth 700 points.

The time bonus is never worth more than 1000 points, which means that it only influences the final score if there is a tie.

Example:
Player1 has 213 points according to the scoring table, which makes a total score of 213,000 points. Additionally, he receives 700 points as a time bonus and ends up with a total of 213,700 points.

If Player3 earned 214 points according to the scoring table, then he will win no matter how much time he took to make his choices.
